A real rarity, a book with a heroine instead of a hero, written by a woman. This is an ex-library audio (hard case). This little book was a "fun" listen, although I had to "dumd-down" a little to get over some of the aeronautical engineering information. If a Cessna slams into a canyon wall, it does not "fall to the canyon floor in a condition where someone can simply walk into the fuselage to check on the condition of the pilot - there will be no fuselage left, it will compress to the size of a steamer trunk! And you cannot rebuild the engines on a B-24 Liberator and have it flight ready in a month! Forgetting that I am an Aeronautical Engineer, and accepting the book as an entertainment medium, I liked it! The story revolves around a lady archaeologist, the father of the dead cessna pilot, a World War II B-24 Liberator bomber, which together make up a very unique, although plausible "love triangle. Throw in a bunch of "Black Ops" government types with a secret base in the Sonoran desert and you get a good little audio book. If you have a 3 hour commute, or need something to listen to while mowing the lawn, or doing the laundry --- this audio will keep your mind off the mundane tasks at hand.
