Interesting read it just started to lose me in some of the repetition towards the middle. I liked how the author presented the character, Cassie while flawed was intriguing.
Another strong story by Bohjalian. Cassie is an alcoholic who picks up anonymous one night stands. Unfortunately, she wakes up in Dubai next to a dead stranger and her memory is limited. The story takes off from there, with worldwide travel, spies and poor Cassie's fragile existence. Bohjalian handles Cassie's adventures without sliding into the gratuitous details.
Interesting premise, but a foolish and unlikable protagonist and a dissatisfying twist at the end.
Well-done! I found the plot surprising, with several unexpected twists, the characters engaging even when not quite likable, and the settings interesting.
The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian reads like an espionage thriller. However, the book is character driven more so than plot driven. The question for me is not why Alex Sokolov is killed but rather what is to become of the main characters â Cassie and Elena. The epilogue pushes the boundaries of believability, most markedly skipping over the challenges of dealing with alcoholism. However, until that point, the book is a page turner and an entertaining read.

This is a hard book to review because I do like the author's writing but I'm having a hard time with the main character, Cassie Bowden. She is extremely unlikeable and stupid. She is a flight attendant with an bad alcohol problem who blacks out and goes to bed with a man she just met on her last flight. How stupid is that? She wakes up next morning and the man is dead next to her and she has no idea what happened to him. The book started out very interesting and then dramatically slows down as Cassie is still drinking and doing all kinds of stupid things. I read to the end just to see what happens with Cassie and the ending was so unbelievable and very rushed. This is my first Chris Bohjalian book but I will check out some of his other books as I know they have got to be better than this one. Sorry but I would not even recommend this one to my enemy.
well paced suspense book. kept you reading. I didn't really like the main character - she had too many flaws - but deep down I didn't want to see her stuck with a crime she didn't commit. I was glad she seemed to turn her life around at the end. The ending did surprise me. Well written.
