Got this just because of a statement about some of the groteseque imagery inside. I'm so glad I did. My faith in the horror genre has been renewed. Most of the books I've seen lately in the store seem to be a rehash of the same old stuff, over and over again. Ok, I admit there is a creepy house like in a lot of books nowdays. (it's either haunted houses, or vampires) But really the plot is so much more than that. And it is gruesome certainly. Sex and blood aplenty can be found within the pages, but so can a really great horror story. And there is a reason for the sex and the blood, so for me it was great. It's the needless sex and blood that annoy me. So I would definately recommend this for any horror fan.

Are You Ready?!-- Grab your night-light, puke bucket, bible, and hold on for dear life! Can you imagine the inner workings of Mr. Lees mind, where in the world does he come up these intense images, and what in the wrong with me that I can't get enough of these stories! It gets 6 stars for the repulsion, and 7 stars for the sex!

This book is gruesome and graphic and definately a bit more hardcore. If you are ready for something more, this is it. I would have rated it 5 stars but I did get somewhat repulsed.

Edward Lee had a good concept for a story with this one, but did not quite make the grade. Flesh Gothic was slow to start and remained a sluggish story. If you are into stories with more gore than actual fright, then this is your cup of tea, just do not expect actual chills with this story.

Lee's books are so twisted, but so good. Just when you think you have the story solved, BAM, completely different ending.

It is a very descriptive book. It makes you wonder and if you like scary stories then this is it. Edward Lee is a good horror writing.

Maybe it's just me, being a huge horror fan and having read pretty disturbing stuff (and seen some pretty disturbing horror movies) but this isn't the most graphic or grotesque i've experienced. Very sexual, but not all that scary. Still, the story has so many twists and turns i couldn't put it down.

X-rated gore about a haunted house and the experiences of a few psychics and a reporter who are sent in to solve the mystery of it's owner who was a satanist and mass murderer.
I think I would have like it more if I hadn't had to read it piece-meal. It's definently a read-thru. Will be checking out other titles by this author in the future.

This is some book to those who like horror, blood and sex all rolled into one!

A gritty horror novel. A journalist lands a big retainer to investigate the murders that occurred in the mansion of a porn producer. This book is NOT for the squemish. There is graphic sex including S&M. It is not just the physical though. In addition to Westmore, the journalist, four others have been invited to live in the house and explore the rumors of hauntings and other things that go bump in the night.

There are vivid descriptions of sex and murder. Fallen angels, EVPs, out of body experiences and more.

This is my first book by Edward Lee, and it absolutely will not be my last. Flesh Gothic is completely sick and twisted, and I loved every minute of it. Lee is amazing, and for anyone out there that is bored with your typical King/Koontz type stuff (I am fans of both, but wanted something a little more hardcore), Edward Lee is your man. Check him out ~ you won't be disappointed. I certainly wasn't!

I'm an Edward Lee Fan, and enjoyed this book. However, I would not classify this as one of his best. If you do not like graphic sexual descriptions, stear clear of this one lol.

This is the best modern haunted house book I've read. It's got all the gore and sexual violence you've been pining for in your late night reads within the context of a well-crafted old-fashioned haunted house tale. Modern, inspired, re-invented. Well done.

Just a nastier rehash of the Haunting of Hill House. Not to be too dismissive - it met more modern expectations of debauchery and evil. Somewhat nauseating, though. Read like a slasher movie.

Hot and gross at the same time. Kept me interested.

Hildreth House. On a moonlight night in early spring, twenty-seven people entered the mansion’s labyrinthine halls, to partake in an orgy of diabolical debauchery, the likes of which beggared description. And one by one, twenty-six of them were butchered in place. The twenty-seventh body was never recovered.

House of Sin

The screams have faded, and the blood has dried but the spectral house remains...waiting.

House of Hell

Hidreth House isn't like other mansions. One warm night in early spring, fourteen people enter Hildreth House's labyrinthine halls to partake in diabolical debauchery. When the orgy was over, the slaughterbegan. The next morning, thirteen of the revelers were found naked and butchered. Dismembered. Mutilated. But the fourteenth bady was never found.
This a hardcore horror story, an erotic horror story actually.

I love Ed Lee but this book was not as good as most of his others.
The book cover is a bit worn, because it took me forever to read.
