I thought I'd really love this book since Alex Delaware is a psychologist and I'm a mental health therapist. I love psychological suspense stories but don't like at all the kind of mysteries where questions are asked of those who knew the victim which leads to conjecture which leads to more questions asked, which leads to....well, you get my point. I did like the main character Alex and his cop partner, Milo. However, the victim, when she was alive, came across as a money hungry, very cold woman so it was hard to empathize with her as well as Alex's obsession to finding her killer. There were lots of enjoyable twists in this book and the ending took me somewhat by surprise.

Another of Kellerman's "Alex Deleware" novels, this book is fast paced, fun to read and has a GREAT story! I couldn't put it down, as the story brought you from the very rich to the very poor of L.A., from the academic halls of a local college to the inner circles of L.A.'s "serect" worlds. Very good read, and as always an ending you won't soon forget!

This is the first Jonathan Kellerman book I have read and I found it to be outstanding. The book is well written, flows smoothly from one scene to the next and is quite believable.

This mystery kept my attention and was one of those wonderful books that is fast paced yet detailed. Well worth the time to read! I never guessed who the killer was but it made perfect sense once it was revealed.

3 stars. Flesh and Blood was a good read, however not as captivating as most of Kellerman's books I've read. I found it very easy to put down after a few chapters, where normally I have to force myself to stop reading!

A good Alex Delaware read - better than most. A young girl is murdered, and when her mother requests Alex's help to unravel the mystery, he can't turn her away. The girl was a former patient and a straight-A student, along with being a high priced call girl on the side. So Alex and his reliable pal Milo dive into the world of L.A.'s not so shiny side, investigating her death and finding correlations to the disappearance of a UCLA co-ed. Compared to some of his works, I found this Delaware novel to be very quick paced and entertaining to read.

This is an ok mystery. The characters that Alex Delaware meets are interesting. However, I've read suspense that is way more exciting, and edge of your seat nail biting than this.
