I stumbled across this mystery, and I'm so glad I did! Read Harriet Klausner's review for a summary. I'll just add that I enjoyed the language, the characters' problems were real, and just like good Southerners, they enjoyed their Cokes. If you enjoy humorous Southern mysteries, you'll love Jimmie Ruth Evans' new series...at least I hope this is the beginning of a series!

Finally a real portrayal of a single mother!!! The main character is strong, couragous but just as loath to get involved in murder as I would be faced with the same situation. Not only are her children portrayed as having personalities similar to that of normal teens they also have character traits their mother would rather do without. The main character is not rich, in fact she works 3 jobs just to make ends meet. Her hardworking spirit is so like my own single mother that I wanted to cheer. It's about dern time a mom was portrayed as the tired lioness she really is.

This was GREAT! Oh, I so hope lots more of this series are written. You couldn't help but like the main character. And Mayrene is such a good friend. Really, really promising series.

Pretty good first mystery -- not very challenging but I plan to read the rest of the series. Heroine and her next door neighbor are funny - not laugh out loud - more amusing.

I like this series- the protagonist is a waitress who lives in a trailer park, they aren't of the 'splatter' genre of mysteries, but they are well thought out and keep your attention.

I enjoyed the plot in this book but the excessive bad language made it really hard to read. I don't use this kind of language nor am I around where I can hear it. I found it very offensive and will not be reading the next book.

Wanda Nell Culpepper, a struggling single mother, who lives in a trailer in Mississippi and works two jobs, is being framed for the murder of her no-good ex-husband, Bobby Ray. Can she find the real killers before they get her too...

Fast read---salt of the earth mom works two jobs to support her children with no help from her ex-husband, who turns up dead in her trailer park. I really enjoyed this change of pace type of book with its down to earth characters and believable emotional responses to the various crises.

Loved this mystery! Wanda Nell Culpepper, single mother of three, works two jobs in Tullahoma, Mississippi. When she discovers the body of her ex-husband Bobby Lee in the woods behind her trailer, the police zoom in on Wanda Nell as their prime suspect. Very funny story, as Wanda and her best friend try to find out the identity of the murderer.

This is the 1st book of the Trailer Park Mystery series. I enjoy cozy mysteries. This is an entertaining cozy, I just wish I like the main character Wanda Nell better. Wanda Nell finds her exhusband dead with the missing plastic flamingo from her yard. Evidence is pointing to her as the killer. As always the cozy story gets a little crazy. On to the next book in the series.

This is a new series with an interesting group of characters. Wanda Mae Culpepper struggles to keep her family together while working two jobs and trying to prove herself innocent of murder. I loved this spunky heroine and can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Includes Kountry Kitchen Recipes! As down-home and appealing as fried green tomatoes, grits, and sweet tea. Heroine Wanda Nell Culpepper is a steel magnolia to cherish. -- Carolyn Hart
This is a good series!
Wanda Nell Culpepper's tough life isn't getting any easier. After a full day slinging hash at Kountry Kitchen and then surviving the graveyard shift at Budget Mart, she returns to her trailer park for some shut-eye---only to find her no-account ex-husband, Bobby Ray, flashing cash and stirring up trouble. She reckons things cna't get much worse---until the next day when she finds her missing pink flamingo stuck in his very dead body. Now the sheriff is out to pin her for the murder, and the real bad guys have her in their sights. But she's come this far on wits and guts, so eith the help of her gun-toting best friend, Wanda Nell decides to stand and fight---for her freedom and her life.
A disgusting ex-husband is pierced by the metal legs of a lawn decoration. But where is the money he flashed?
I couldn't get hook into the story. The characters seemed fine, but it didn't capture me.
