Ordered this book based on a PBS recommendation and really enjoyed it. It is an interesting fictional story of an independent woman growing from youth to adulthood between new york and a plantation in puerto rico. Wished it was longer!

This is a great book about a woman who grew up in the early 1900's.She grows up in New York and then in Puerto Rico. Lenora is faced with the decision of being a liberated woman, following her dream of aviation or loving a man and becoming domesticated. The book is filled with so much more though ;life in Puerto Rico on a plantation, what it was like to chase a dream that many women would not do in the early 1900's. Very good novel
