I learned so much about World War II while reading this book, especially the specific battle of Iwo Jima. The Flag Raisers became real to me and I laughed and cried as I read about their experiences. Well-written and a great written "picture" about the war.

This is one of the top 10 books of all time. Not only because it tells the true unseen story of the men of Iwo Jima but it makes you realize that these men are our heros. They are owed honor and respect forever.
