This is an actual novel or collection of short stories and not a graphic novel. There are 5 stories, each representing the decades since the X-Men inception. From the 1960's to 2000. All five stories were very well done. Usually with comic book novelizations it is either a hit or miss, this one is a hit in my opinion. You definitely see how the X-Men stories have advanced over the years.
