Darcy's as hot as he is talented...
Fast music, powerful beats, and wild reputations- on and off stage- have made virtuoso guitarist Fitzwilliam Darcy's band into rock's newest bad boys. But they've lost their latest opening act, and their red-hot summer tour is on the fast track to disaster. Now Darcy and bandmates Charles Bingley and Richard Fitzwilliam are about to meet their match...
But she's about to rock his world...
Enter Elizabeth Bennett, fiercely independent star of girl-band Long Bourne Suffering. Elizabeth, her sister Jane, and friend Charlotte Lucas have talent to spare and jump at the opening band slot. Elizabeth is sure she's seen the worst the music industry has to offer. But as the days and nights heat up, it becomes clear that everyone is in for a summer to remember.
I have to say that overall, I really enjoyed the book. It had an 80's MTV kind of feel to it, and it was a lot of fun to read. It felt like I was on tour with the bands, wandering around backstage.
The characters were well done. It was a bit funny at first hearing the names from Jane Austen's book, and then trying to imagine them in leather and on stage! They had believable emotions, and I didn't mind watching three different stories at the same time during the book. The author did a great job keeping my interest with the rock band parts of the book.
I did have a few complaints. One was that the story was just a bit too neatly wrapped up. I like my HEA just as much as the next person, but three guys and three girls all clicking together and working out? A bit too neat.
I was also slightly surprised at the amount of sex in the story. I think even rock stars stop to take a breather every once in a while! I think that there could have been a few less bedroom scenes, and the story would have been a bit better for it. The book gets quite steamy at times.
A fun and interesting read!
