Many of you will remember that Jeremy Marsh and Lexie Darnell fell in love in "True Believer." This was a totally unexpected happening in Marsh's life. He's a divorced man in his mid thirties, a columnist, used to life in the big city. But he has moved to the small rural town of Boone Creek, N.C. to start a new life and marry Lexie, a librarian, who is expecting their child.
Fatherhood, home owner, small town dweller - all at once it's a bit much for Marsh to accommodate. To top it off he develops a bad case of writer's block, and begins to receive email saying Lexie isn't all she pretends to be.
Will the two be able to overcome these obstacles for the sake of love? It's a teary trail to the answer, but Sparks fans will relish the trip.

I love Nicholas Sparks and I must say that this is one of his finest. I laughed, cried and was completely absorbed in the story. Amazing writer, who consistently produces page turners and characters that are so realistic you feel their story in your soul.

I usually love Nicholas Sparks' books but this books was hard for me to really like because it was very sad! The story was wonderful but I really wish it could have ended different.

The second book of Nicholas Sparks' that I have read....as good as the first one!! It drew me in and kept my attention until the very last page.....the end was a tear jerker! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good, fairly quick read with great characters.

A really sweet love story, very realistic to real life. I love how the author builds his characters into these real people. Noone is perfect. The ending is terribly sad, even as Nicholas Sparks goes. I really didn't see it coming.
Helpful Score: 2
The only book of his that I have ever had to struggle through to finish.

By the best-selling author of MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE, THE NOTEBOOK, A WALK TO REMEMBER and A BEND IN THE ROAD. Another vivid tale of lives that are changed and rearranged by memorable people.

Nicholas Sparks is so predictable. Most of his stories are about love and they have some tragedy wrapped up in the plot. I love most of them because they are set in North Carolina, my home. I chose this one because I was in the mood for a gushy love story that would make me cry. This one was different.
Yes, it was about love. There really wasn't any great tragedy. And I really did not like it.
Basically Jeremy starts to doubt his relationship because of rumors and some drama. It was all very boring and silly to me. I did not enjoy it at all and I am surprised I even finished it.
I give it 2 out of 5 stars, simply because of the love aspect to the story and it being set in NC.

I love all of Nicholas Sparks books. His writing is so full of emotion and you get drawn right into his stories. This book is a sequel to true believer so make sure you read that book first. This is definitely a tear jerker and you will want to have an entire box of tissues nearby!

This book seemed to be written like a diary; most of it was set-up for the final chapters and the epilogue. Many events in the book were stand-alone events and didn't relate to anything else--almost like page fillers. I had to make myself finish reading this book.
Helpful Score: 1
I didn't care for this one as much as I have all other Sparks' books - don't want to give anything away so I won't comment more about the story line. Maybe the expectation for sequels is just too high.

This was the first Nicholas Sparks book I've read. I found it very hard to get in to and ended up just skimming the remainder of the book just to get through it. I've heard great things about this author but maybe this book was not one of his best.

Nicholas Sparks works his magic again...a wonderful story teller. Simply loved this book!

Classic Nicholas Sparks, hard to put down, great story, you fall in love with the people in the book. This is a great beach read!

A wonderful story - provocative, yet heart warming
I was a bit disappointed in this book. I usually get into his books rather quickly, but this one took me half way through. As always in his books, someone dies. The ending took me by surprise but still had me in tears.
Wonderful read. Kept me wondering if things would work. But a very surprising ending.
Another fantastic book by Nicholas Sparks. This is the follow up book to True Believer.
I usually like Sparks books but this one I couldn't even finish. I kept getting bored and finally read to the end and then it was kinda ruined.
A classis Nicholas Sparks that is perfect for light summer beach reading.
This is a typical Nicholas Sparks book - a well-written, good love story. I moved to North Carolina 8 years ago and especially enjoyed the book's setting in Boone. The main characters were introduced in an earlier Sparks book which I have not read. That did not take away from enjoyment of At First Sight.
This is the continuation of the love story of small-town librarian Lexie Darnell and big-city science writer, the skeptical Jeremy Marsh. In the course of a whirlwind six weeks, Jeremy Marsh has done the impossible: he's found someone he wants to spend the rest of his life with, and he is going to be a father. All her life Lexie has wanted to raise a family in her hometown, the dying Boone Creek, North Carolina, and Jeremy is willing to sacrifice New York for her.
But as the weeks pass, Jeremy loses his writing touch, the money spent on buying and renovating their house seems more than they can spare, and Jeremy can't help but feel like Lexie is keeping things from him. His good friend Alvin keeps warning him that he's gone into this too fast, he barely even knows Lexie, he shouldn't throw his life away for her.
But doubtful friends are the least of their worries, it turns out. As their child's expected date of birth nears, complications arrive which could threaten their small family's happiness forever. Tragedy, acceptance, and joy combine in this sweet tearjerker.
I wasn't a huge fan of TRUE BELIEVER, the prequel, and AT FIRST SIGHT didn't leave a much better impression on me either, except for the ending.

Truly enjoyed this continuation of "True Believer" as Jeremy and Lexie start their life together. Found this book hard to put down.....
As with all Nicholas Sparks this is one of his best....about endings that bring about new beginnings and the magic of everlasting love.
unlikely romance between a New York City man and a small town Southern woman
This is a story that will take you from happiness to heartbreak and to joy. This is an easy read.
Another great book by Nicholas Sparks. Make sure you read True Believer first.
Another favorite book of mine by Nicholas Sparks! AT FIRST SIGHT is about endings that bring new beginnings, tradegies that lead to unexpected joy and most of all, the magic of everlasting love! This book brought tears to my eyes - may be because I'm a mother!
Another winner.
THIS IS A GREAT BOOK AND THEN YOU NEED TO READ SPARKS "TRUE BELIEVE" AS THE FIT TOGETHER. GOOD READING
It's a good book, but I will warn you that it will make you cry. Really, really hard. You should probably read the first book, True Believer, first, though.
This book is ok but definitely not Sparks' best. I fyou want his best that would be The Notebook and A Message in A Bottle.
Easy read - typical Nicholas Sparks plot however.
i just checked this out at my local library and finished it in 2 days its a really great book i highly recommend
Not my favorite Sparks book but still a good read.
This was a wonderful book. It is a sequel to True Believer, but it also gives a great review of that book in case you haven't read it. It is a love story with a mystery to the characters lives.
There are several things Jeremy Marsh was absolutely sure that he would never do: he'd never leave New York City; never give his heart away again after barely surviving one failed marriage; and never become a parent. Well, Jeremy is now living in the tiny town of Boone Creek, North Carolina, engaged to the love of his life, Lexie Darnell, and anticipating the start of their family. Jeremy Marsh's life had certainly taken quite an unexpected turn.
However, just as his life seems to be settling into a blissful pattern, a mysterious and disturbing email sends him into a tailspin. It also sets into motion a chain of events that will irrevocably change the course of this young couple's relationship. It raises several questions in Jeremy's mind: just how well do we really know the ones we love? How do we handle the inevitable doubts and fears concerning impending parenthood, and the various stumbling blocks that are sometimes placed in our way?
Continuing the story of Jeremy Marsh and Lexie Darnell - the young couple introduced in Nicholas Sparks' bestselling True Believer - At First Sight manages to capture all the heartbreak, tension, romance and surprises of couples who are newly married. This is an astonishing tale about the love between a man and a woman and between a parent and a child, At First Sight is about endings that bring new beginnings . . .tragedies that lead to unexpected joy. . . and, most of all, the magic of everlasting love.
This is second book by Nicholas Sparks that I've read, and I haven't actually read True Believer. In my opinion, though, I didn't really need to - this worked very well for me as a standalone story. I really enjoyed this book; granted that the story wasn't necessarily about anything earth-shattering; but it was a poignant and heart-warming story nevertheless. This author certainly knows how to develop an unexpected story; the plot was slightly mysterious and was an engagingly quick read for me. I give At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks an A+!

It was hard for me to get into the book after reading a James Bond/Indiana Jones type book. But after a few pages you got to wondering what will happen and ending you won't expect..

Must read True Believer first to understand the depth of the characters. Have tissues handy also!!! I loved it!
continuation of one of Sparks' previous novels, it is a nice story of Jeremy Marsh and Lexie's romance and marriage
Adjusting to small town life after the big city. Relationship and pregnancy spine tingling. Tears shed towards the end. Enjoyed the book a lot. Hard to put down once started.
Great follow up story to True Believer. Nicholas Sparks never disappoints!
I really enjoyed this book although it made me cry while I was work. Another good Nicholas Sparks book.
a wonderful story written. any fan of sparks must read.
This is a sequel to another one of Nicholas Sparks books. It was really great like all his other books
A great follow up to "True Believer". The story follows Jeremy Marsh and Lexie Darnell as they begin their new life together in Boone Creek, North Carolina.
Very good enjoying read
What a great book! I read it in one day...I couldn't put it down!
Another excellent book by Nicholas Sparks!!!
Romantic story set in small town, much like the authors style. Not his best but an easy read.
Great book, couldn't put it down. I only wish that I could find out how their lives continued!
Wonderful story!
A great love story with some twists! Great book!
Very good book!
Make sure you have plenty of kleenex when you read this one! I couldn't put it down.
WOW- I was sorry this book had an ending. I loved it.
This was not my favorite Nicholas Sparks book.
All I can say is I love love love Nicholas Sparks. I never tire of his books. Awesome read.
True Believer & At First Sight.. WOW! What a touching set of books. I can't believe this story was never made in to a movie like some of Nicholas Sparks' other books.
I read this book before reading TRUE BELIEVER (by accident) but really enjoyed the book. It is a wonderful, heartwarming story that's sure to have you reaching for the tissues in the end.
# 1 New York Times Bestseller. Another really good book.
This book was really good. It was a really good book to read and it kept me on the edge of my chair as I was reading it. The ending was not what I was expecting which is sometimes unusual from Nicholas Sparks because a lot of his books can be predictable. Everyone should read this book!
WONDERFUL BOOK!!!!
I enjoyed this book.
A story of love between a man and a woman; a parent and a child. A story of endings with new beginnings.
great book
this was a very good story very touching. the last 10-20 pages were not expected and kind of disapointing. the ending the author chose made me very mad.
Hmmm, can there really be love at first sight???
What a geat read! But yet all of Sparks books are great!
I liked this book, but definitely not as good as his others.
Good book, hard to put down.
Another Nicholas Sparks book that lived up to expectations. Thoroughly enjoyed it. If you like this book, you need to read True Believer too. It's the first book featuring Jeremy Marsh as the main character.
Although I'm a huge Nicholas Sparks fan, I did not care for this book as much as his previous ones. All in all, still a very touching book.
Another Sparks tear jerker. A story about love, family and life. Loved it, I didn't want to put it down and didn't want it to end
GREAT READING.... REALLY ENJOYED !!
Another great Nicholas Sparks book with an ending I did not see coming! Very good read that I would recommend reading.
Never expect the expected when you pick up a Nicholas sparks novel. You have no idea of the journey your are about to experience...Prepare to laugh, cry and fall in love all over again!
Nicholas Sparks has a way of writing a book that will definitely make you feel emotions. Laughing, crying..mainly crying haha! I love reading his books because they are stories about everyday real life things. This book in specific was one that was a real tear jerker. It was very good and I would recommend reading it! Definitely! :D
Another great Nicholas Sparks book with a surprise ending that made me cry...he does that a lot.
Very sweet story with an ending I was not expecting.
This book was pretty good, some parts were slow and I thought that At First Sight and True Believer could have been combined into one. The ending was terribly sad and it actually made me cry..(I have only been moved to tears by one other book and that was P.S. I Love You.) I will keep this book but may swap my copy of True Believer, I really don't think you would be missing anything by skipping that one and only reading At First Sight. My favorites by Nicholas Sparks are still Message in a Bottle and The Guardian.
I loved it! Leaves you wanting more page after page....yet feeling satisfied after the last sentence is finished.
What can i say, Nicholas Sparks is AWESOME! Another great book!
Sparks does it again and again, captivating
good quick read.
ANother heart jerker and great work by Sparks.
Nicholas Sparks does it again. He is brilliant at weaving together a tail of love and loss. I won't spoil this one for you, you'll have to read it yourself.
Another great book from Mr. Sparks. It will bring tears to your eyes.
It amazes me how Nicholas Sparks' books can reach out and grab your heart! This was another wonderful book by him!
Have just recently (in the past 8 months) begun reading Nichols Spark's books, and I can honestly say that I am a fan I have found that I can get lost in his novels and lose all my worries. AT FIRST SIGHT kept me involved and also thinking about where the book was taken me and where it would end. It was absorbing and felt that it was real, things like this do happen in real life and I was interested. My only regret is that the final pages came too quickly!

Sad but a great read!
Typical Sparks. at least a one hankie book
A sweet love story with unexpected twists and turns. Compelling and yet an easy read.
Another Nicholas Sparks love story. A good book!
****POSSIBLE SPOILERS*****
I loved True Believer and wast really excited to continue on the journey of Jeremy and Lexie's love.
First off I did have a gap of a couple of months of reading True Believer to At First Sight. I read both of them within 48 hours, however I didn't feel the same passion that there was in True Believer. This one leaves you hanging, almost like a soap opera except the characters never sell you on the story.
it's too episodic with a bunch of he said/she said. So when you finally get through all of the drama you just want things to end peacefully.
Overall not his best and it may have even damaged True Believer for me as well.
Just go into reading this book with an open mind but don't expect greatness.

Another wonderful story by Nicolas Sparks.
Typical Nicholas Sparks book, easy read and full of emotion.
Another hit by Sparks!! Get out the kleenex as usual!
WONDERFUL book!!!!!
I'm addicted to Nicholas sparks books. This one though was a bit of a hard starter for me. It was fairly vanilla until near the end. Overall a great story, just slower moving hat what I'd like.
Continuing the story of the young couple introduced in Sparks's bestselling 'True Believer', thei novel captures all the heartbreak, tension, romance and surprises of those who are newly wed. I loved it ~ another good one for Nicholas Sparks
This is the sequel to True Believer...wonderful continuation of the love story!
An enjoyable read, however, not my favorite Sparks.
I couldn't get into it even though I liked the first one "True Believer"
I loved this book! Another wonderful story by my absolute favorite author. Get your tissues ready.......I cried for the entire last 2 chapters.
Another great book by Nicholas Sparks! I really like how Sparks described the relationship between Lexie and Jeremy! It was very believable!
Another great N. Sparks book!
Read it for book club awhile back. Typical Sparks. If you like his stories, you'll like this one too.
Great read..one of his best

What can I say other than Nicholas Sparks is quite an author - I'm a sucker for romance and he sure knows what he's talking about. BUT - he seems to always have different endings (they're definitely not predicitable) and this book was no exception. GREAT BOOK!
Another wonderful story by Nicholas Sparks. This one is a sequal to A True Believer (I think) - following Lexie and Jeremy's love story through their courtship, into marriage and beyond. Nicely told, from Jeremy's point of view, the characters really are beautifully developed and the story engaging.
WOW! I won't give away the ending, but it will move you to tears! This is Sparks' best novel since the Notebook or Message in a Bottle. This story finishes the beautiful love story of Lexie and Jeremy, characters Sparks introduced us to in True Believer. An awesome reading experience!
wasn't sure if it would be good at the end like all of his others but when you least expect it he grabs you and doesn't let go and it was wonderful and once again I cried.
This is a very good book. I didn't realize that it was a continueing story of the two characters, but it didn't seem to matter. I cried a lot and could really see each and every character.
I love Nicholas Sparks. His characters become good friends before you are done reading.
His plots always are well developed.
Good Read.
His plots always are well developed.
Good Read.
a famous writer gives up everything to move to hicksville North Carolina to be with the woman he loves. He marries, adjustes to a different life without the wilds of New York City.
This would be a great summer vacation read!
I liked this book (I listened to the audio version) but felt that I didn't really get connected to the characters until the end of the story.
Sparks weaves a compassionate tale about love, marriage and trust. Stick with it and you'll be gratified.

Very Entertaining Book.
Ex library boo....marked accordingly
Interesting story. Not my favorite Nicholas Sparks book, but still good.
Sequel to True Believer. Not my favorite of this author.
I loved this book. And it's in excellent condition.
not one of his best books, but definitely a good read.
Sequel to True Believer - excellent book by Nicholas Sparks. If you like Sparks you will LOVE this one!
another great read from Nicholas Sparks
I enjoyed the book.
This is a story about the love between a man and woman and between a parent and child. It is about endings that bring new beginnings, tragedies, unexpected joy and the magic of everlasting love
It's worth the time. Reminds me fo Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas, by James Patterson.
A story of love, life and romance. A great book if you love romantic fiction.
Nice story.
This was another GREAT book. I couldn't put it down.
Enjoyed this book very much-as I do all of his books!
Not his best work but still an easy fluffy read.
Like all Nicholas Sparks books, At First Sight, was a beautiful love story from the south with wonderful ghost and second sence.
Follow up to True Believer, this book is an easy read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now married, Jeremy and Lexie are expecting a daughter. Jeremy is struggling with writer's block, a new home, a move from NYC to a small town in the middle of no where and the impending birth. I enjoyed the exploration of emotions in the different scenarios. Loss, love and hope are major themes throughout.
Another Amazing book by Nicholas Sparks!
very good book but then all of nicholas sparks are good
Every book that Nicholas Sparks writes gets better and better. All his books have such a loving story to them.
enjoyed very much, but just when I think I know whats going to happen he does a switch on me, makes it more interesting
Excellent! Keeps your attention. Sequel to "True Believer".

But just as his life seems to be settling into a blissful pattern, an unsettling and mysterious message re-opens old wounds and sets off a chain of events that will forever change the course of this young couple's marriage.
I have not read the book.
