The plot of "In Firm Pursuit" is typical -- successful attorney, cheating husband, crazy best friend, sexy opponent trying to seduce her for his own personal gain. The plot is weak and not well thought out; there is too much craziness to be believable. The writing is decent and the book will keep your interest. From page one, the author jumps immediately into the main plot. The reader would have been better served had the author set up the plot better. After jumping immediately into the storyline, the book then drags on too long; the pace of the book is too slow; and there is little or no character development. The actions of the characters are then predictable, like the plot. After reading a couple of chapters, the reader can guess what is going to happen in the book. In a well written book, the reader is wishing the story will not end. In a mediocre book, the reader cannot wait for the book to be over. In a very bad book, sometimes the reader will not waste their time finishing it. This book was mediocre.
