A very good story indeed! I have to say I do enjoy reading viking stories and all that they intail but one thing that has always bugged me about the captives (or females in general in all romances) most don't seem to have a backbone- save it to say this chick does! And she shows everyone from the start just how capable she is!

I say it's a great read! You guys should check it out!

One of my all time favorite Lindsey books! Not as light as some of her books, this one tends to be a little dark, but that was part of it's charm, I thought. It had a very authentic and historically accurate feel to it. If you enjoy this one you would also enjoy Prisoner of My Desires, which is certainly one of her hottest books that I have read to date.

I have all her books in hard back but 2, There is nothing better on a rainy night than a warm cosy fire and a Johanna Lidsey Book. They are must reads all of them over and over again.

Yet Garrick Haardrad, the proud and powerful son of a ruthless Viking chieftain, claims her with a primitive abandon that leaves her breathless, igniting fires of passion that blaze through the cold Nordic nights and forge the unbreakable bonds of a fiery, enernal love.

Good story but you have to be ready for some pretty dark scenes.

The first of the Viking trilogy. Early Johanna Lindsey very well done.

Really good read, even if a little dark. I still loved it.

"Lovely and dauntless, abducted by invaders from across an icy sea, Lady Brenna vowed vengeance-swearing no Viking brute would be her master...no barbarian would enslave her noble Celtic heart. Yet Garrick Haardrad, the proud and powerful son of a ruthless Viking chieftain, claims her with a primitive abandon that leaves her breathless, igniting fires of passion that blaze through the cold Nordic nights and forge the unbreakable bonds of a fiery, eternal love." This quote was taken word-for-word from the back of the book, and that's basically what the book's about.

Fast read. Charaters are interesting but Brenna (main female) can get a little repeatative.

I have mixed feelings about this book! It may reflect somewhat the romance style at the time it was written or more likely what would really be true for the historical period it was written. as said, to the conqueror goes the spoils, that is all too true here. I thought there was ALOT of rape and forced sex, as well as sex without any sensitivity. It is hard to understand that could be a basis for real romance or love, and the book was more of a disappointment to me. it didn't seem 'real' although there is that psychological thing about captives falling in love with their captors possibility.as a romance it didn't work for me, but it was pretty well written and there were certainly interesting aspects to the story.
