Very good book! Story of three sisters greatly affected by a tragic event that happened early in their lives. Moving protraint of a family in crisis in New England.

This book held my interest from the first page to the last. The author does a good job of telling mingling the past with the present without dropping the thread of the story. Probably one of my favorites by Luanne Rice. Carol 10/28/07

I really enjoyed this book. Rice is such a good author to bring you into the story, you just need to read more. Look for Safe Harbor, it's the second part of this book

The past and the present come together to join two families united in their anger and grief.

Never read Luanne Rice before, thought she was romance writer. Was surprised at the realistic, intriguing characters that drew me into the emotion of the story. There is some romance, but not the overly-salacious kind. If you have any interest in a (possible/fictional) behind-the-scenes look at a literary figure, beach life, art, and complex family relationships, get this book.

Under the summer sky, anything is possible...

Coolly sophistical and steadfastly single, Caroline has always been the sister everyone could count on.

Joe Connor was only six when his father died at Firefly Hill.

Though he and Caroline never met, she reached out to him.
Now, after years of silence, Joe is suddenly here...and Caroline still feels the connection.

This book by Ms Rice was my first and won't be my last. I loved how it was easy to follow, the story kept you glued to it and you felt like the characters were personal friends. It has intrigue, romance and just good quality. I highly recommend it.

Interesting story involving three sisters and a death many years ago. Although, I liked the book enough, it was not a real "page turner" as all of her other books have been for me so far.

Caroline Renwick has always been the sister everyone could count on. She thought that she and her two younger sisters had put the past behind them, but as summer gets under way on the Connecticut coast, a man arrives who has the power to bring it all crashing back. Three deaths haunt the Renwicks. Caroline wonders whether Joe Connor holds the key to her family's healing - or its destruction.
Luanne Rice has built characters who are fully human, and a plot that moves from the past to the present with grace.
