Loved this! Mary Connealy has done it again! Her "funny romances" are just what I need after a long day at work. Highly recommended!

Having enjoyed Swept Away, I was excited to dig into Fired Up and return to the lives of these characters. Fired Up is the second book in Mary Connealys Trouble in Texas series.
In Swept Away, we met Dare and Glynna, the main characters of Fired Up.
Dare is the town doctor, but since he never went to school to be a doctor, he doesnt think he deserves that title. However, he still does what he can to save peoples lives. But it seems like someone is out to end Dares life! Several incidents point to something more than just an accident.
Glynna was the mail-order bride of a man named Flint. Flint was not a good husband and Glynna was eager to get herself and her children away from him. Flint is now dead and Glynna is determined to support herself and not rely on any man again. Her children are also determined to keep any men away from their mother. This proves to be quite difficult when Glynna opens up a diner and men from all over town are coming to eat there despite Glynnas poor cooking.
But Glynna cant help being drawn to Dare. And with all the danger he continues to fall into, Glynna finds herself wanting to help keep him safe.

I am still somewhat new to Mary Connealys writing but I love the way her books are easy to read. You cant help but be swept into the story and live in the characters world. I definitely enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the finale of this trilogy whenever it is released.

I received a free copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for an honest review. I did not receive any compensation for this review and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions stated are my own.

Mary Connealy is one of those authors who you enjoy reading when you need a good laugh. She makes her characters come alive with humor and witty dialogues. Fired Up is the second book in the Trouble in Texas series. I would seriously urge you to read them in order. You are able to keep track of everyone much better that way. So for those of you who have read the first one, you will enjoy hearing more about the town of Broken Wheel, Luke Stone and his bride Ruthy, and quite possibly a romance between Dare and Glynna. That is if Dare isn't killed first. And if he can get past the hurt and anger from Paul. My heart broke while reading about Paul and how much he went through. But don't get the idea that this is a book where you cry. No ma'am! This is a funny book by far and you will laugh and chuckle throughout it. Especially with the stubborn men and the even feistier women:) You gotta love em!

I am hoping the next book might deal with Vince. All the men of the Regulator Clan are so sweet and kind that I would be happy with the next novel being about any of them though. My only complaint? I wish the people who did the covers would read how the characters look. Dare is a scruffy looking man with a mustache and the hero on the cover doesn't have any sign of a mustache. This is the second time I have noticed that recently and it just makes you wonder if they check out the character sketches first. Otherwise, excellent book that I thoroughly enjoyed!
