"Sexual abuse is always terrible-abuse by a parent is especially painful. To protect her daughter, Janie Webster took her on a pilgrimage around the world-their courage as it is reflected in this book is inspiring;the hope and faith that sustained them both are deeply impressive."
Esther Rantzen, BBC

I am reading this book right now. It is impressive. The topic is painful - yet the writing is exceptional - I think. There are phases in it that are poetic and profound. I am really enjoying this book - though it is a serious and stressful adventure for both mother and daughter. The truth that stands out is that God is faithful and will help you in your dire time of need. For me, that is not a stretch in credibility - I believe it already. But Fingernail Moon demonstrates it beautifully. Recommend. NOTE ADDED: Not a novel as a reviewer suggests. A TRUE STORY - see the title.

As many of my books I found this one second hand. I couldn't put it down after the first chapter. It is hard to believe that things like this actualy happen on a normal day to day basis.

This is such a wonderful novel to read. God was very much with Janie through out her journey of those years. Child sexual abuse is hard to deal with but with the abuser having aids is a nightmare. I love what this mother did for her daughter, though at times i feared for her in the novel. Her husband could of made it so much easier if he would of just consented to supervised visitation, but then i guess that is the last thing an abuser wants. The3 father being a doctor and such a selfish man to make those years so hard for wife and daughter. But in the long run it brought mom and daughter so close, it did take away years with those who loved them. Janie had such beautiful parents, and friends. I love this book, there is a happy ending and it gives such inspiration, there is alot of love in this novel. Very hard to put down once you start reading.
