Good read. Heroine has been drifting through life until her best friend [story 'Believe In the Magic'] meets someone and drops hints that he thinks he's a shapeshifter, something the best friend shrugs off when asked directly about it later. At the best friend's wedding she meets the hero and is immediately smitten - she also wonders if perhaps he's a shifter too... But the question seems moot as the guy seems to run the other way.

The hero is determined to stay as far as possible from the sexy heroine, his parents had a miserable bond and he has sworn never to become mated. Then he finds out that bad guy who has been kidnapping shifters has now started targeting potential mates as well and carries her off to his home to guard her. The romance continues with the inevitable tribulations along the way, the bad guy continues his evil machinations, hints that some of the previously kidnapped shifters might still be alive [especially Nick whose kidnapping is the plot driver in the first story], we meet more shifters who provide potential fodder for more [as yet unwritten] books, h/h are kidnapped by the requisite evil genius...

It's a quick read and definitely a different turn on the shifter mythos. Enjoyable.

Not bad for an EC title -- had a story line with shapeshifting. Didn't feel that all they were doing was jumping into bed. Perhaps not as hot as some but ok. Worth a read but I wouldn't go out and purchase.
