First, this book has a ton of characters that if you are not up to speed on the whole Crisis/52 story line you can spend as much time googling the characters as I did. I am a casual reader of DC novels but can honestly say that 80% of the heroes/villains in this book I have never heard of and with each new name I would google the character to get some background, time consuming at the least. With each chapter/segment of the book there didn't appear to be any smooth transition. Seeing as this book is based on a series of comics the author had a hard time bringing all the comics together in a coherent story line. All in all its a book that can be enjoyed but can get frustrating if you want details of the of the characters' abilities and background.
