This is a fascinating book that, unlike many memoirs, reads like a page-turning novel. If you are into the history or the American west, and even if you are not, you will enjoy this book. I kept picking it up and ignoring other books I was reading.

Though not perfect by any means, Herron led an exciting life that had you rooting for him as if he were a Louis L'Amour hero.
