Lorenzo Ghiberti, ayoung, unknown, and inexperienced painter, produced an elegant panel cast almost entirely in a single sheet of bronze. Interesting book. Scholarly, yet not too hard to read. Neat story about some of the lesser known artists that started the renaissance and prepared the way for Michaelangelo, Raphael, and friends.
