This book presents a refreshing spin on many well known fairy tales, as well as some new stories. Most of Barbara Walker's short stories present in this book are very enjoyable and pleasant to read.
Walker's twists on traditional fairy tales include simple gender swaps as well as familiar heroes and villains trading places, always informed with the author's feminist sensibilities. Rather an uneven collection.
I found this to be very much a "man-hater" book. Not my cup of tea but did have some interesting story lines.
