I absolutely loved this book. I found it while searching for another book on a similar subject. In the past few weeks I have been making a considerable effort to eat mindfully, eat locally and eliminate processed food. This book has been a wealth of information. It also has many, many recipes that appeal and would likely become favorite go-tos. Part memoir and part cookbook, I enjoyed every minute of reading it and will likely reread it again very soon. Very well written with a wonderful sense of place, I loved reading about Ms. Mather's daily life and her neighbors and community, her love of food and the memories associated with it. Very highly recommend.

This is the first book Ive ever read that I looked for an address to write the author and let her know how much I enjoyed her work. A wonderful story with great information and delicious recipes, it gave me the courage to bake my first loaf of bread (Honey-Oat toward the end of the book) that turned out beautifully. The weekend following my reading of it I went out to look for local food, which is easier said than done in Orlando, Florida, and decided to actually put forth effort to live locally. Inspiring and wonderfully written.
