FEAR & GREED by Lawrence Light: The three Reiner sisters, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottonhead, I mean Ginny, Flo and Linda, have created a computer program called Goldring that accurately predicts the stock market, and have used it to make themselves incredibly wealthy. Ginny is the distinguished mathematics professor who invented the algorithms, Flo is the techno-weenie and Linda is the one whose desire for public recognition gets Flo killed and the only copy of Goldring stolen. Journalist Karen Glick feels she has contributed to the situation with her interview of Linda, so she works alongside her to track down the murderer and the missing program. Surprise, surprise, soon they are in danger as well. As in Lights previous Too Rich to Live there are a lot of characters and subplots, but he eventually gets all the strings tied together. At least your loss in this Wall Street investment is limited to just a few dollars, and if you like it, as I did, you get a pretty decent return on your investment. Maybe not the seven thousand percent generated by Goldring, but still a pretty good one.
Good story, lots of complications and unexpected twists.
