I gave up on this book about halfway through. To be honest I don't think it's a bad story at all. I do however feel that it's a bit predictable. The romance was sweet, but the plot just didn't interest me, I couldn't see it going anywhere.

Basically it's the story of a washout witch named who returns to her magical hometown to undergoe training in witchcraft so that she doesn't accidently hurt someone with her magic. Theres a feel at that point of her going back to high school (boy what a treat) and perhaps trying to make up for the mistakes she made. Along the way she encounters T.J, a warlock who bonds with her against her will.

I really liked the characters. I thought T.J was quite hot, and Dayna is hilarious although annoying at times. I also felt that the setting and world building had a lot of potential.

What stopped me from completing the book? I really didn't like the whole back to school plot that seemed to be devolving into a popular click vs. plucky misfit heroine thing. That just doesn't interest me. It was too predictable and started to overshadow the cuteness. Also while I enjoyed the romance, I felt it was underdeveloped. By page 200 T.J and Dayna have barely spent any real time together or talked. So while some may enjoy this book for it's fun and simplicity, I found it wasn't for me.
