This is a moving and awe inspiring story of one of the great forerunners of our modern child advocacy campaigns. At worst this is a wonderful inspirational stories. At best it is a story that will move one to tears with the vivid details of poor children and families being saved from the poorest of situations. A wonderful read which I would recommend to anyone.

I got this book after reading the incredible 'Ned: Barnardo Boy' by Barbara Coyle, because my kids and I wanted to know more about Mr. Barnardo. This book fit the bill perfectly. Fantastic children's biography!
