Most books about various aspects of crime are intended for popular consumption and are written in a slapdash and condescendingly trashy style. This book is not. Spilsbury, the rock-solid British courtroom pathologist is a fascinating figure, is here brought to life by one Colin Evans, who I've never heard of before and will now search out on PBS and elsewhere. An excellent read about a longtime courtroom star by an excellent (and highly intelligent), talented writer.
