Casey O'Toole is the detective in charge of a serial killer case. She meets plastic surgeon Mark Adams when she finds that one of the victims was his patient. They fall quickly in love as she puts together the pieces and races to solve the case. I liked this book but thought it was not as good as Gray's other books. The "perp" became really obvious to me really quickly. Also, there was no development to the romance it just sorta, bang, happened. And I found it hard to believe that this tough, independent detective would allow her brothers to dictate whether or not she has sex.

This is a great mystery with great characters. After 2 murders of women outside her jurisdiction, Detective Casey O'Toole finds herself the lead investigator on a 3rd murder in her town. Women are being kidnapped, rapped and then turned loose in the woods to be hunted down and killed like animals. Casey is the youngest member of a family of all cops including her 4 older brothers. During the investigation she meets and immediately has chemistry with one of the suspects, Dr. Mark Adams. A romance blossoms and both find themselves in danger. The book is fast passed and commical as well. It definately leaves you wanting more of the O'Toole family.

A great suspense novel and romance novel rolled into one.

From the back cover-

A serial killer is targeting women of Mears, Colorado, and so far the police have nothing to go on. Detective Casey O'Toole is assigned to jump-start the investigation, and she discovers two unsettling facts: the victims were all patients of a prominent plastic surgeon, and each of them bears an uncanny resemblance to herself.
Ruled out as a suspect, Dr. Mark Adams offers to assist Casey in any way he can and, despite her resistance, their relationship quickly turns personal. The pressure on Casey to find the killer mounts steadily as terror grips the small mountain community. Then a stunning twist leads Casey to the deadly truth-and to the face of a killer nearly as familiar as her own.

Guess I've read too many books so this one just kind of bored me.

I don't like 'romance' so I had to skip a lot of pages to get past that part and I figured out the killer early so the rest of the book was irreverent, so by half way I just skipped and skimmed.

So overall I'd say it's just a hum-drum book with nothing new added to this type of story
