I've just seen Django Unchained, and for the umpteenth time in 10 years, I'm trying to find some action-packed westerns to cut my teeth on.

I have no real experience with western novels or short stories, but I'd like to read some that don't spend pages and pages on exposition.

Guns, horses, saloons, and high body counts is what I'm after. Spaghetti western style.

I would appreciate some recommendations.

Thank you.

You can try the Ralph cotton novels. They are like 300 pages and get the story going pretty quick. Easy readers
