This was a lot of fun to read. I enjoyed learning about what life for a little farm boy would be like in the late 1800s. I love learning about what family life and life back then had in store for children. This was very interesting and a great read. I loved this book better than the first one (I consider this the second in the series since it was written and published second). It also was pretty cool for me because I have relatives that live in upstate NY and have animals and such too.

If you aren't hungry when you start reading, you soon will be. This is not exactly in the series about Laura but gives a great background of her husband to be as a young lad.
