I have not read the other books in this series, so I cannot make a comparison, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was a computer programmer (nerd), so that aspect of this book intrigued me. I was drawn into the story line and tried to guess "who done it". I read this book quickly because I found it hard to put down. I recommend this as a good read.

Another spectacular mystery from J.D. Robb. This one is a little out there unless you are a role playing gamer. Then it's right up your alley. Totally cool scenario but as usual Eve Dallas quickly figures it out and fingers the bad guy. I really liked the balance of romance and mystery in this one. Roarke is the most romantic hero and this book clearly shows the depth of love between Roarke and Eve.

I just love this series and its characters, and this eagerly awaited paperback did not disappoint. Bart Minnock's up-and-coming company is about to release a breakthrough in computer games that will put the four owning partners in the big leagues, but the young geek CEO is found in his holo suite with his head chopped off. With no evidence of anyone else having entered the room and the absence of a weapon, Eve Dallas faces a classic locked room mystery with a futuristic twist. It's an exciting premise for a nerd like me, and Robb delivers. Even if I did guess fairly early on both the identity and the means of the murder (which I don't usually), I found this much more satisfying than the too-obvious clues she left in Innocent in Death. As usual, the story ended way too soon for me and I almost wish I didn't read so fast so I can spend more than a day with Dallas and the scrumptious Roarke. That battle scene at the end was, as Peabody would say, "just mag!"
