This is a very amusing book. I loved the characters! Lady Sydney and "Syd" were both captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this book and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Cathy Marie Hake is a treasure!

I loved this book! I did not read the series in order. I didn't plan it that way, but I didn't know Forevermore was part of a series when I read it first. But I really don't think it was important to read them in order, though each book does mention characters from the previous books.
Fancy Pants was full of laughs, right down to the very last sentence. I enjoyed everything about it. Cathy Marie Hake has become one of my favorite Christian authors. Looking forward to her other books.

I love almost all of Cathy Marie Hake's work and this was no exception.
The characters were very interesting, well fleshed out and realistic and the situations they got themselves into were great.
I really loved it.

I was really, really looking forward to reading this novel. While I won't go so far as to say that Hake disappointed me, I just wasn't left satisfied at the end of the novel. I liked all of the characters and the premise, it's just that it seemed to move at a very slow pace. Later, however, the book fairly speeds through the budding romance between the two lead characters. They spend a great portion of the novel fighting or misunderstanding one another and all of a sudden they want to get married. Too quick. It just seemed slightly too unbelievable to me, otherwise, the book was well written and interesting.

This was a fun, fast read. It was a bit predictable, however I still enjoyed it. This is my first read by this author, I will definitely look for more of her books.
A very fun read! At first, I thought it was too hokey, but I really enjoyed it!
The characters are wonderful, the story enchanting. I read this book out of order but enjoyed it thoughoughly all the same.
Lady Sydney Hathwell never intended to keep up her disguise as a boy. However, she is fleeing an arranged marriage and the only way to get her uncle to let her live at his ranch is to be male. Initially, she only plans to keep her man disguise for a short time. However, when she arrives at Forsaken, her uncle is away and since she doesn't want to be sent away, Syd continues to don her manly apparel.
"Big Tim" Creighton is appalled at the young nephew of his partner. He sets out determined to make a man of this wimpy "fancy pants" boy before Fuller returns. What ensues is a wonderfully humorous and at times exasperating tale of the battle of the wills.
Hake weaves a delightful story, sure to make you laugh and keep you turning the pages till the very last.

This is one of my all time favorite books, producing lots of chuckles. It is a book that will make you want to stay up all night just to finish it.
Excellent book. Had me laughing out loud in some places. Took a little while to adapt to writing style/voice, but after that, it was a great read, had trouble putting it down. Had an excellent Christian message, without being "preachy".
When Britisher Lady Sydney Hathwell's father dies, the American who planned to wed her suddenly reneges. Stranded in America and penniless, Sydney contacts a relative in Texas who, mistaking her male-sounding name, invites his "nephew" to join him on his ranch. "Big Tim" Creighton, however, is appalled when this mincing fop arrives at Forsaken. He determines he'll turn Fancy Pants Hathwell into a man before the boss returns home. From the get-go, he has "the kid" mucking stalls, clearing and plowing a field, and assisting with a difficult calving. But when Sydney's true identity is uncovered, Tim resents being deceived. Yet in time, he also finds that he doesn't like all the attention Sydney garners now that she's wearing pretty gowns...Together Sydney and Tim will discover the importance of family and what it means to be a man--and a woman--of God.
Great book.
