This is a sequel to The Family Upstairs. DCI Samuel Uwusu is called to the scene where the bones are found in the Thames River. Rachel Rimmer has also been told that her husband, Michael, has been found dead in the cellar of his house in France. Lucy Lamb is settling on a purchase of a house while her brother Henry is off to find a boy from his shared past. Are these all connected in a way? This is a well-written book with lots of answers to questions from the first book. No need to read the first book as details are covered very well in this one. The characters are unique and the plot is fulfilling and leads to a great ending. If you like standalone sequels then you will love this book. Looking forward to my next Lisa Jewell book.
