The Family Bed
Author: Tine Thevenin
The sharing of the family bed by parents and their children is no modern notion. From cave to castle, all over the world, group sleeping was accepted as the norm. It has only been within the last 150 years that modern Western "authorities" have discouraged this practice.

I got this book over 12 yrs ago, when I was a new mom, and it was very helpful to me. If you have questions about co-sleeping, this book will answer 99% of them. It is written not just as information, but also as support for those that have made this decision together as a family.

All over the world parents and children share a bed. This book talks about why you should share a bed, logistics and historical info. It is dated--new studies support the idea that co-sleeping is good for infants and mothers, but are not quoted because of the book's age. I do not know if there is a newer edition. With the info in this book I've successfully co-slept with all three of my children.

There are very few books out there on cosleeping, this is a good read for any parent who is wanting a book that encourages them in that choice.
