Everything that I've read from Edith Layton has been very well written. After reading hundreds of Regency Romances, this books stands out because of the unique characters and situation. I've gotten so tired of the seemingly current fad of "go to Vauxhall...get abducted...hero rescues heroine". This book is refreshing.

Brilliantly written book, very different from the usual romance-type stories. What makes it so very different is that you can't really tell who the heroine is from the two main girls.... So subtly written that you have to figure it out as the story goes. So VERY well done! And a highly satisfactory read. You can't go wrong with this book.

Very well written book, but the misunderstanding between the H&H went on to the point where it was almost excruciating to read about-although the problems are not contrived, they are being deliberately caused by "The False Angel" of the title.
*** SPOILER ALERT ****

It's the blonde!

One of the earliest Regency books I ever read was "The Duke's Wager" by Edith Layton, so I was thrilled to see the Duke of Torquay and Regina reappear as characters in this story, along with the Marquis of Bessacarr(from The Disdainful Marquis).
