The plot is improbable, the characters are unbelievably extraordinary, the woman unbelievably sexy and seductive, and yet despite these flaws it's a great entertainment, the kind of book that grabs you by the collar and won't let go. Decided to read a few pages or a chapter before going to sleep the other night, and ended up reading half the book. Finished it the next day. Reminds me a bit of some of Richard Stark's Parker novels, but much slicker and with more worthy content because of its child abuse theme.
Another page turning ride written by Andrew Vachss. He does his homework and knows as much as any author about child molestation. He writes in a sharp, quirky style that I like.
