Ellie Faneuil has the most bizarre dreams. She dreams she is flying. Add to that, when she touches people, she can get a glimpse of their thoughts. It's because of this that she avoids contact with her best friend, Ruth. She feels funny about sneaking peeks inside her head. But then, a new boy, Michael, shows up at school, and immediately Ellie feels like there is some connection between her and Michael.

Michael seeks Ellie out and reminds her that they met a few summers ago in Guatemala. Elllie's parents are professors and travel in the summers to remote locations to teach local farmers better ways to tend the land. This one summer, Michael's family was also there. But Ellie has no recollection of Michael. She asks her parents about him, and they make vague mention of recalling the Chase family.

As the school days roll by, Michael continues to seek Ellie out and the two grow closer. Eventually, Michael drops the bomb on Ellie that she isn't just dreaming she's flying, she truly is. Not only that, he can fly, too. No wonder the two feel such a connection. Michael and Ellie try to discover what it all means and what they could be. Michael thinks they are vampires, but Ellie believes it's more than that.

As Ellie tries to uncover the truth about who or what they are, her parents become more guarded, people start disappearing, and a strange man begins to turn up in various places.

FALLEN ANGEL is more than just another story about angels. There is romance and tension in the story, and there is mystery and intrigue, as well. FALLEN ANGEL made a great beach read, allowing me to get lost in another world for a few hours. The story kept me engrossed and totally frustrated upon turning the last page. To find out what happens next, readers will have to pick up the second book in the series, ETERNITY.

I have read both the books in this series and really liked them. The author brings a fresh new story. I took the two on vacation with me and couldn't stop reading till I finished them both. Any young person would enjoy these books. I am 60 and enjoyed them also.
