To me, this was an uneasy marriage of modern novel style and Christian beliefs. Applying heavily descriptive language to heaven and the angels, and Jesus (called Christos in the book) with all the imagined deep undercurrents of the 3 angelic brothers' emotions, did not sit well with me and I could not finish the book. It is to be read like the Da Vinci Code, I guess...take it not as something based on truth, but as a goofy fantasy written by wishful thinkers who mine the culture's half-remembered Christianity for their ideas.

Wonderful book-gave a perspective of Heaven and the spiritual that we neglect to think of often; beautifully written with very vivid descriptions that make the scenes come alive.

Plot: This book is written in the perspective of the Heavenly realm. You read an account of stories such as Lucifer's fall from Heaven, the creation of Earth and man, the great flood, and it touches on the Birth of Jesus. It is written as one continues story.
Characters: This book shows a new perspective on Lucifer, that at least I had never considered before. It shows him as a lost angel who is consumed by his hatred for mankind. There are times when you can sense his remorse and his want to repent, but the evil that is brought forth by his intense hatred proves to be stronger than his love for God.
Themes: The main theme in this book is repentance. Time after time, the fallen angels are given a chance to repent and be restored with their Creator. Yet, time after time, they refuse - their allegiance to Lucifer is seemingly more binding and rewarding to them. Even Lucifer, himself, is given numerous chances to repent and come back to his place in Heaven.
Emotion: I did not find this book to be at all emotional. There were points in the book when God himself is overcome with sorrow, and enough to move your heart. However, the way the book was written didn't leave room for me to really connect and feel moved in any way.
Overall: There was a lot of fluff in this book. There were whole chapters that I found to be unnecessary. The beginning was very slow, and although it did pick up a little when the more relevant stories began to come to light, it was difficult to continue to read and I found myself wanting to give up and stop reading it.
