A great activity boook. Pictures for nearly every step, and delightfully illustrated. Materials used include watercolors, felt, fabric, beads, sequins, pipe cleaners, buttons, and ribbon.Though it says for ages 5 and up, I would say 7, even 8 might be more appropriate. ...and with adult assistance, unless you have a very competent/precocious child. I could see me doing this on my own when I was 9 or 10..and probably would have enjoyed it even at 11 or 12. Depends on the child. There is a quick reference at the back of the book for each stitch:tying a knot, running stitch, cross stitch, blanket stitch, and finishing off. Also at the back areinstructions for attaching sequins and buttons. All of which will be helpful in future creative endeavors!!« less
