I got so impatient (because it sounded like a really cute premise) waiting in line for this one I bought it for my birthday and I'm glad I did. I seem to be trying out a lot of new authors lately and this was my 1st read by this one. I'm not a huge fan of My Fair Lady but don't mind it either, this twist was very enjoyable to read. I put it on my read list because of the nautical/sea idea and even though it spent no time at sea and only referenced Jack's past life aboard ship it was still a great read.

First two chapters were slow and had me wondering if I would get into but by chapter three when Ivy enters the story it moved along. I actually really liked the Miss Manners sub chapter headings (which surprised me), it was kind of fun to read a summary of what they would do or address in that chapter.

One of the things I appreciated the most was having Clarence Fuddleston not desert the story after starting it. The sub characters were featured instead of just the two main ones. I liked the theme of breaking away from the patterns of mean relatives, improper choices by relatives, or the inability to show love and affection and forging your own path and way of living.

Loved Anthony Blake and Sophia!!!!! I have a feeling their story is even more interesting than Jack & Ivy. Clean, fun read, ended with a smile on my face.
