Facing Your Giants is similar to other Lucado books. Broad themes include trusting God with loneliness, difficult times, people who hurt you, grief, and unexpected life events. Its message is simple...trust and look to God, not the circumstances. It doesn't have tons of practical advice beyond the central message, but I realized that perhaps the central message was all the advice I really needed. A quick, enjoyable read that I'm still pondering in my life.

I love Max Lucado and after reading this book was convinced he is doing what he was meant to do. He is so gifted and knowledgeable. This is an excellent story about David and fighting his giant, and Max does an incredible job of relating this to our lives and what we can learn from it.
