One of the best mysteries ever written...a thrilling and frightening race to the finish, set in WWII England. Even if you've seen the movie and read this book before, your pulse will race at the end! A classic!
As others have reviewed, great suspenseful thriller. By the time I got to the midpoint of the book, I couldn't put it down. A great page turner and a story that will transport you back in time. Recommended!
My first Ken Follett book and it was great!
Loved the historical descriptions and events. Characters were interesting and not too over the top. Looking forward to reading his other works.
If you are a fan of Ken Follett and haven't read this book I would recommend getting it.
As usual he has written a great suspense/thriller book. It takes place during WWII and has to do with German itelligence pitted against the Allies. I highly recommend.
His code name was The Needle. He was tall, handsome German aristocrat of extraordinary intelligence-England's most dangerous enemy. He knew the secret that could win the war for Hitler
I'm not usually a fan of thrillers. This one, however, I found captivating. The historical setting made it especially interesting. All of Ken Follett's books that I've read have been well-written. The historical perspective is fascinating, the story lines compelling, and the characters well-developed.
The book that made Ken Follett a star of literature. This is a classic all-time favorite of mine. I read it when it first came out. I enjoyed the movie just as much. If you have not read this book yet, and you enjoy Ken Follett, you should go back and seek this one out. The story is set during WWII, so it wouldn't matter if you read it in the 80's or read it now. If you are a Follett fan, you will love it.
âThe Needleâ an enemy spy, aristocrat, and ruthless assassin. One person standing in his way. A lonely Englishwoman on an isolated Scottish Island who falls in love with him. Another Follett masterpiece. Full of suspense, intrigue, and adventure. Best WWII spy novel. Atmospheric and thrilling. A must read. Iâve been reading Follettâs books. Love them all!
A book I have read and re-read - an excellent spy novel. I would say it was one of Follett's best - albeit one of his first.
Interesting how the author keeps the reader involved emotionally with the main character by use of the first person. And then, when the author wants to move your emotions, he switches to the 2nd person.
Hi code name was The Needle. He was a handsome German aristicrate of extraordinary intelligence-England's most dangerous enemy. He knew the secret that could win the war for Hitler...
She was Lucy Rose, a beautiful young Englishwoman torn between her burning desire and her binding duty. She was the only one who could stop him...
