Emma Sands and her young daughter have fled to a remote fishing village where she meets sheriff Elvis Donnelly. As these two outsiders find passion, they also find themselves sharing a fight for their lives
A suspenseful, passionate, and romantic tale of a single mother and a big-city cop turned smalltown sheriff.
Classic Susan Anderson. I thought this was one of her better books.
A taut thriller that successfully describes the end results of an unchecked obsession.
I wanted to love it. I did like Elvis very much, but overall it was just an OK book. I was more interested in the back story than the main story.
Elvis (yes, Elvis!) & Emma meet, there is instant attraction. He is a big city cop turned small town sheriff. Emma has run from a doomed marriage, she is good at running! Good suspense fiction, romance.
I was really excited to receive this book. Unfortunaely, I never could get into it. I didn't like the chemistry between the hero and heroine.
This is Susan Andersen at her best! The storyline is intriguing, the characters endearing and the villains despicable. I loved it!
i don't really care for the zebra line. ok, but not the best susan andersen.
This was a great book
Very good, This is a new author for me, but I will certainly read others of hers.
I couldn't put this one down!
GOOD BOOK, i WOULD GIVE IT 3 STARS
3.5 stars.
And keep in mind this is a reprint of an older title.
Now then, for the most part this was a pretty entertaining read. It's well told, and has main characters I loved. The heroine is cajun, so there's quite a bit of french phrases thrown in, which i enjoyed, though others might find aggravating after a while. The hero is less than physically perfect, which made me love him all the more :) There's also has a 3 year old as a minor character who both acted like a 3 year old and made me love her, even when I usually don't like children in my romances...so double yay!
The only downside really, is how tame this was...in regards to both the heat level and the mystery/ action storyline...I didn't mind the lower heat level, but I usually like more intense RS ( think Karen Rose) I suppose if you're not a fan of gritty romantic suspense you'd like this a lot more than I did. Also there were a few too many characters..none stole the show, IMO, but still there were enough to be a bit of a bother.
But altogether, exposure is a quick, enjoyable, if a bit dated read.
