this book is really applicable to wives today. if you are a wife or desire to be a wife this book helps you become the Godly wife God intends

I am a Christian and a Proverbs 31 wife, but found this book so offensive that I actually threw it away rather than let it go back into the PBS system. The author pretty much tells women to let themselves suffer all sorts of (literal) abuse from their husbands in order to be a "good wife," and backs it up with Biblical passages that I feel are misrepresented. I will never recommend this book to another person, and I would never, ever want my daughter to read it.

A MUST READ for every young lady. Wish I had read it before I got married, and I recommend it and try to pick it up for every young lady in our church. Definitely get it and read it if you are a wife, and share it with your daughters!
What can I say about this book? Can I even say enough? I will try. :) This book was given to me YEARS ago, and because of its "old fashioned" looking cover I thought, "Oh; I'll get to it eventually".
Naturally speaking, I wish I'd read it sooner! This book is VERY necessary for married couples in covenant; whether you're "in the church" or "not very religious". It TRULY is worth reading - more than once.
I appreciate Mrs. Peace for her candidacy, and for all of the (clearly evident) studying time and prayers that it took to be able to write such a book. I applaud her.
If you have an opportunity to order and read this book, go ahead. I can guarantee that as you read and pray through this book, YOU WILL BE BETTERED. If you want to be. Both your life, and the life of your marriage will change for the better. You won't regret it. I highly recommend this book to all of my married, female, forward line friends - and those that DESIRE to be married as well.

By far the best and most enlightening biblical perspective on being a wife. Get it, read it and share with someone else!
I read this book several years ago and though I believe most of it is Biblically sound, I am deeply concerned about what I read in the book where Peace counsels abused wives to stay with their husbands. Also, I feel deeply concerned with the counsel of Peace, where she advises wives of men involved in criminal or illegal activity, to announce that they will report their husbands to the cops before doing this. Wives have been murdered by husbands who knew that they were being turned in. Peace's advice to these wives in abusive situations, puts them at risk! The Bible tells us that in some instances we are to obey God rather than man. Wives, use your discernment in reading this otherwise very good book.
