This was neither hagiography nor unvarnished, and for that reason it was a really great read. I've found Eva Person (Evita) to be fascinating for quite a while given her iconic status and her meteoric rise in politics--and this book both filled in a lot of the blanks and left me with more questions, many of which I fear will never be answered given the cult of personality that surrounded her and the Peronist government's general use of propaganda. Still a very satisfying read, though it's a pity there aren't more books about her.
