hello! thanks for reading my review! Ok first off, dont judge this book by the cover, im guilty, i almost did. I mean it looks pretty old and lame right? Well i was sooo wrong.
At times it was slow, but it kept me going. The main character and her partner/wife have been through alot, you dont just get the chase/PI work you also get an inside scoop on her private life. At times made me laugh out loud, there is humor, then alot of seriousness, but all in all it was a pretty enjoyable read. I have the 2nd one on my wish list already.
Im not insanely excited about this but i was pretty happy when i was done reading it and i usually dont like police type mysteries, so the fact that she was PI made it interesting! I love it when she talks to people they always ask, 'hey you a cop?!'
and she always says 'no im a PI' lol it just makes me laugh
anyways i gave this book 4 out of 5 stars! its unique and keeps you hanging in there. I reread it and noticed that i missed a few things the first time!
thanks!

Lauren Laurano is surely not the first gay P>I> in New York City, but she is in a class by herself. Smart, stylish and self-determined, she lives with her longtime lover, Kip, in a Greenwich Village brownstone.

Lovely, shy Lake Huron has been raped and refuses to talk to the police. Her older half-sister, Ursula, brings in Lauren, who seems to win the young woman's trust. But before she can tell Lauren everything, Lake is found dead, leaving Lauren to decipher a 21st-century clue and a dysfunctional family tree that a good, stiff wind could blow to bits. The closer Lauren gets to the truth, the more her own life is endangered--by a past that can't sty buried and fragile questions that have no easy answers...
