Five people are invited to participate in a new game show called "One Lucky Winner". The Best Friend. The Confidante. The Senator. The Boyfriend. The Executive. The winner will receive ten million dollars. Each contestant needs the money; and they're willing to do just about anything to win. When they arrive at a secluded villa, their phones are taken, and the rules are explained. They are not allowed to contact anyone. They cannot leave the estate. They must participate in each challenge or risk being voted off the show. Each of them eagerly agrees. Each of them has a secret. None of them know what they're getting into.

If you like mysteries and are looking for something different, check out this book. The story is told from the point-of-views of Mare (The Best Friend), Camille (The Confidante), and Fern who is the producer's assistant and the show's host. Through flashbacks, we learn each person's secret. As the game is played, we know someone is privy to all of the secrets; but we have no idea what their plan is.

I was totally enthralled by this story. Even though most of the contestants were unlikeable, I kept wondering (and guessing) who was behind this game show and how the whole thing would end. I listened to the audiobook. Brittany Pressley was the narrator. As always, she did a great job. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
