Mystery writer Ernest "Ernie" Cunningham has been told his presence is mandatory at this year's Cunningham Family Reunion. His older brother Michael will be joining them after spending three years in prison for murder. Ernie is not real popular with his family since he is the person who testified against Michael at his trial. As they awkwardly wait for Michael to arrive at the remote ski resort where the reunion is being held, a body turns up on the slopes. No one recognizes the man who seems to have succumbed to hypothermia, but a closer look at the body reveals that he was murdered.

Ernie tells us a story about the family reunion where he claims everyone in his family has killed someone. He uses Ronald Knox's Ten Commandments of Detective Fiction to tell us how he solved this whodunit.

I saw some reviews on this book and thought I'd give it a try. I was thoroughly entertained by this clever old-school mystery. Our narrator, Ernie, lays out the story in great detail. He uses dry humor to do it. He tells us about each member of his family and how they killed someone. He explains the rules (ten commandments) and tells us he is a reliable narrator. This is a complex mystery. The author gives us all of the clues we need; but you must pay very close attention. I admit, I missed a lot of clues. But Ernie explains everything so it's easy to follow how he got to his conclusions. My rating: 5 Stars.

A fairly entertaining murder/comedy book. The end got a tad long, but it tied up the loose ends.
