Maybe I'm in the minority, but I thought this book was not very good. This entire plot would have ended if they'd just sat down and talked to each other. Every one of the Seal Team books was so much better to me it was as if a different person wrote them.

I didn't care much for the heroine in this book. Brockmann's hero is typically wonderful.

One of my least favorite Brockmann books. I thought Melanie was whiny and her sister was a much stronger character (Brittany's book Night Watch is one of my favorites). If you read the TD&Ds you should read this one, but I just did not love it.

She's an American held captive at the US Embassy after a coup. He's a Navy SEAL, part of a team who rescues her and her party and brings them to safety. One week of glorious passion and they go their separate ways. Only he can't forget her beautiful blond hair or her radiant smile. Little did he know looking her up once he returned to the States 7 months later, she would want nothing to do with him...because she was pregnant with his baby! Little does she know how determined a Navy SEAL can be once he's fallen and fallen hard.

This was another great SEAL read from Brockmann. Harlan "Cowboy" Jones rescues Melody Evans from terrorists who have taken over the American embassy where she works. When their extraction plan doesn't go smoothly, they end up spending days and nights together. They share his leave, but at the end of it Melody tells him not to contact her. Seven months later, unable to forget her, he calls only to be turned down again. Undaunted, he shows up on her doorstep where he discovers she's pregnant. She tries to send him on his way, but he returns and sets up a tent in her backyard. There's a nice secondary plot about foster kids and adoption and some good family background on Cowboy. Other books in the series are Frisco's Kid, Forever Blue, and Harvard's Education.

Part of the Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series featuring Navy SEALs. Brockmann's characters are well-developed and she really lets us get into her heroes' heads.

Melody Evans wanted to marry an plain, average man who didn't take risks. But when the Foreign Embassy where she works is taken over by terrorists, she is rescued by a Navy SEAL named "Cowboy" and her life changes. He is exciting, protective and very sexy. After a brief 6 day affair, she realizes that they have no future, and she dumps him. Seven months later he shows up at her door to find Melody pregnant. He vows to do the right thing. All he has to do is convince her that they are meant to be together. Very good story, and emotional to the end. Loved it.
