If you've been following this series, you know that Eve Duncan is obsessed with finding her daughters remains. Eve believes that Bonnie was kidnapped and murdered by a serial killer. Over the years she has investigated and pushed the limits with everyone she knows to find out who took and killed her baby. This book details Eve's life from when she was a child until now. Bonnie's father, John Gallo is back in Eve's life and Eve has to determine if it's safe to trust him or if he's the murderer. This is a roller coaster ride of emotions. A very tough book for a mother to read with a serious cliff-hanger ending.

I truly love Iris Johansen's books, but I have to say....I really wish Eve would find Bonnie. It seems to be dragging on forever. I guess if that were to happen, there would be no more Eve Duncan books.

That said, I did enjoy this book, as it gives more insight to Eve, how and why she became who she is, and her relationship with Joe.

I am looking forward to reading the final book, Bonnie (I have already read Quinn).

This book is Iris Johansen at her best. The story is back to the earlier chapter of Eve's life. It is written like Johansen's earlier works with lots of detail and action. Superb read!

Once again Iris Johansen has outdone herself. I love her as an author and 'Eve' held me tight to every page and every line. I finished this book in one day. Anyone who enjoys Iris Johansen's books will be in for a thrilling ride on this one.

I always have liked this author but have not read her books in order. But this was easy to catch up, she explained a lot and you didn't feel you had missed too much.
