A dramatic masterpiece. Set during the backdrop of war-torn Europe and the drama of the postwar Middle East. Tells the tale of 2 families - One Arab the other Israeli. Lets us know how really intertwined all our lives are. The stunning conclusion will blow you away!!!!

As a fan of the Princess series of books by Jean Sasson, I eagerly awaited another of her books. I was sorely disappointed. The book certainly has it's compelling elements, but it suffers from a poor storytelling style--how many times can your mind be forced to jump back and forth between various time periods? How many auxiliary characters can you keep track of? And most of all, what does most of it have to do with what ends up being the central mystery of the book? Sasson should either have expanded this into a several volume set, giving each of the intertwining plot lines the time it deserved, or taken about 3/4 of the backstories of each plot completely out. Better yet, she could simply have deleted half the book and ended up with a much more readable text.

Great book, not as good a Princess, but still a good read.
