Essential, perhaps. Tiny, simple, Audbon-centric, yes. This book is the miniature overview of Audubon and not to be mistaken for a biography, field guide, art book or any other such compilation. It has just enough information to keep you from being in the dark, but it is certainly not an in-depth book by any stretch of the imagination. Great for kids or new hobbyists/birders/art people.
